Here's my entry to the last ever *sniff* RS_Games. If you read my submission before reveals, it's worth taking another look as I've added bonus content (Chapter 2 on AO3) which is some content that I developed during the planning process that didn't make the final fic.

I can now announce that I teamed up with _melodic_ and impishinklings for rs_collab! Our team name was 'Radium's Sunrise' which is an anagram of 'Remus and Sirius' ;D

The plotting and planning was very much a team effort, and we all had our parts to write. I was the 'artist'! TBH I wish I'd left one of the pieces off, I'm not happy with it. Perhaps I'll touch it up and re-post. Perhaps I'll even finish the ones I didn't get done in time... But with my to-do list, I wouldn't hold your breath :P

I'd like to thank Mel and Impish for their work on this. It was tremendous fun, if a bit stressful at times, and I'm proud of what we managed to achieve together =) ♥

Prompt: They've been together for a very long time, lived a good long life but in their twilight years, one of them falls terminally ill. Towards the end they're in incredible pain and want nothing more than release from what has become a miserable existence for both of them.

So, I can finally dance around and say *I wrote this*! This story was an absolute delight to write, despite the emotional rollercoaster (or possibly because of it, apparently I'm a bit of a masochist). It's my longest ever fiction, first death fic, first first-person narrative, first non-linear timeline, first present tense fic (at the time I wrote most of it, although others have posted in the meantime) so it felt like quite a risk, and I was nervous for posting. The reception has been more than I ever could have hoped for. Fandom people, you are amazing! ♥

I owe so much to akatnamedeaster. Firstly, for the amazing prompt that spoke to me on a personal level. Secondly, for sharing her love of this unlikely pairing. She has shown me that not only are there possibilities beyond hate sex for them, but also the importance of real, flawed, sometimes arsehole-ish characters getting a chance at happily ever after.

And, of course, I have to mention my little star who is _melodic_! She has been a fantastic and much-needed sounding board and hand-holder throughout this endeavor. Her pom-pom waving is exemplary and the griping, grumping and groaning she puts up with is truly admirable! Also, she lets me beta gorgeous smut when my brain needs to recover xD
