Snowflake Challenge: Day 11

Day 11
In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

And I thought Day 10 was hard...

Let's start with _melodic_.

Mel's stories are varied, and I love variety. She has her favourite pairings, but she'll give most things a go. When reading one of her stories, you are nearly always guaranteed a nice dose of smoking hot smut, often accompanied by a bit of kinkiness, flangst or fluff. She has a delightful list of favourite kinks, and she's always up for trying exciting new things. Aside from the incredible smut, what really strikes me about Mel's writing is the way she uses colour and light. She paints incredible pictures that amplify the mood of the story so wonderfully, with only her words. Her story which, I feel, best reflects this can be found here, but such moments can be found throughout all of her writings.

Now to shiftylinguini

Miss Guini is multi-talented. She draws hair so incredibly soft-looking that you just want to stroke it, she's great at using little flashes of colour to highlight certain details, and her background details are to die for. Her writing started with short ficlets to accompany art, which showed her wit as well as a talent for engaging characterisation of next-gen characters. Since then, there's no stopping her! Guini doesn't just come up with a plot idea and write it. She creates the whole world around it. She develops those characters, their history as individuals and as a couple, so that whatever they're going through, the reader feels it too. I don't even know what to rec, you'll just have to go read all of it LOL.

The following people I find infectious (in a good way!) for the following reasons:

alisanne never seems to stop writing. My friends feed must be at least 40% Ali!
capitu is the most supportive cheerleader that fandom's ever seen!
akatnamedeaster lets her muse take her deliciously devious and sometimes odd places, and screw what anyone else thinks.
gracerene educated me on all my now-favourite kinks, without even meaning to. She's also queen of UST.
digthewriter is just everywhere. Like seriously, what fest isn't she modding these days?!
birdsofshore can make the most mundane tasks and items sexy, I bet she could even do it with socks and sandals if she put her mind to it. Honestly.
writcraft, torino10154 and magnetic_pole run/co-run my three favourite fests (hp_kinkfest, hp_goldenage and rs_small_gifts respectively) as well as contributing their own always-awesome works to fandom.

I feel like I don't know my flist as well as I should, or would like to. There's just so many awesome people out there in fandom, and so many of their awesome creations, that it's all rather overwhelming. This year, I hope to have a go at rectifying that by making more of an effort to interact with my flist and catch up with old and new works of friends old and new =)

OMG! Why didn't LJ notify me. Squeeeeee. Ahhhhh you are too kind to me. I wish I had done this snowflake thingy with everyone else because you would be, for sure, my answer to getting into fandom ect. I would have never gotten back into fandom and writing more and joining fests if it weren't for your gracious offer to beta my owl post fictions in 2015 and then showing me all the other nice people and fests and everything. Goodness I was so happy to have met a fellow fan and someone with so many kinks like me. Anyway now I am getting all mushy but <33333

Well I can't say I've never read one of your headers and gone 'Oh... kay... um... *scroll*' but even then I admire the balls you have to put that out there anyway =D It's given me the confidence to say, 'actually, yes the readers will probably prefer that ending, but I want it to go this way, so that's what's going to happen.' and I'm all the more happier with my writing for it, so thank you ♥
